Anterotikon (incidental music)

I wrote incidental music for Karst Woudstra's play Anterotikon.
The music, commissioned by theater company WARNS, consists of an Introduction and seven Entr'actes.

The scoring is for clarinet, violin, violoncello and piano. I made the score and the sound files in Sibelius.

The performances: May 23, 24 and 25 (20:15 p.m.)
The production will be repeated in october 2014.
The location: Amstelveens Poppentheater in Amstelveen

This is the third production of WARNS for which I wrote music. Previous productions were The Lady from the Sea [Ibsen] and The Lady from Dubuque [Albee].

De dame uit de provincie | The Lady from Dubuque

After the successful music I wrote for theater company WARNS last year I was again invited to write incidental music for their performances of Edward Albee's play The Lady from Dubuque [De dame uit de provincie] this year.
This time I composed a ballad to be sung by the actress Marieken van Nieuwpoort as an intermezzo between the acts, as well as introductory music to the play itself.

The scoring is for jazz ensemble (alto sax, muted trumpet, electric guitar, piano, electric organ, bass and drums), which fits the mood of the play.
The ballad (›No Time to be Afraid‹) is for voice and piano.

The performances were at June 15 and 16 (20:30 p.m.), June 17 (15:00 p.m.) and the upcoming performances are at October 3, 4 and 5 (20:30 p.m.)
The location: De Roode Bioscoop in Amsterdam

The score is not meant to be executed, however. I made the score and the sound files in Sibelius and mixed the music in Logic.
